Being able to drop the StyleCop activity at any point into the 2010 build workflow I consider would be the 'correct' way to implement it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You certainly can use the existing MSBuild task, but it either means manually editing the .csproj files (or equiv) or adding a dedicated MSBuild task activity. Both will work, just not what I was after.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But when i am trying to use only a share location like version control path to assemblies(which is in build controllers),It is showing the following error.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;quot;TF21509:An error occured while initializing a build definition \CustomBuildTasks\BuildName:Cannot create&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;unknown type '{clr-namepace:NamespaceName,asembly=AssemblyName}Activityname'.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;
